Pumpkin Patch

Last week I took my cute little preschool class on their first fieldtrip. We went to the Red Barn in Santaquin for a tractor ride out the pumpkin patch. Tate came along for the fun. He loved riding on the tractor and kept asking if he could drive the green tractor. When we go out to the pumpkin patch he got so excited and just started running from pumpkin to pumpkin yelling, "Mom look at all these pumpkins. I can not believe it." He walked around forever looking for just the right pumpkin. He wanted a little one that he could hold all by himself, but there really weren't that many that were small enough. He finally settled on a pumpkin and decided to let me help him hold it because it was just too, "heaby." It was so cold, but he was a good sport.

Waiting for the tractor to take us out to the pumpkin patch.

How about this one, mom?
The perfect pumpkin.

Doughnuts with Grandma

When Tate and I went to the library last, one of the books he picked out talked about eating doughnuts. Tate kept asking when we could go and get him a doughnut just like in his book. Well, there aren't a whole lot of doughnuts that you can buy that Tate can eat because of his allergies. I tried to explain that to him and he asked if we could make some that he could have. So, we went up to Grandma Cannon's and she helped Tate make doughnuts that he could eat. We just used Rhodes rolls and they cut them out into the shape of pumpkins, fried them up and rolled them in orange sugar. Tate was in heaven. He was so excited to finally have doughnuts. Thanks Grandma for helping Tate make this fun Halloween treat. Tate's job was to roll the doughnuts in the orange sugar.

Helping Grandpa pick the perfect doughnut, and of course one for Grandpa and another one for Tate.

Pillow Fight

Last weekend, we went up to Grandma and Grandpa Cannon's so Tate could make doughnuts with Grandma. Before the cooking began, Tate and Grandpa Cannon were playing together and started having a pillow fight. Tate was having so much fun throwing the pillows at Grandpa and then waiting for the pillows to be thrown at him so he could fall over. He even started falling over before the pillow even hit him. What a fun time.

Hiding in the pillow fort.
Laughing so hard, Tate could barely stay on the bed.

Witches and More Witches

Last Thursday, we went to Gardner Village to see the witches and all of the Halloween Decorations. They have so many fun things to do. They have a petting zoo and pony rides, lots of food, witches, and games. It was UEA and they were also having some children's witch festival, so it was extremely crowded, but it was so much fun. Tate's highlight--riding the horses, big surprise. He loves, loves riding.
Tate on his white horse with a green bucket for the horse to eat. He was pretty excited that in front of the horse there was a green bucket full of food for the horses.
So happy.
Sitting in front of his favorite witch--it was sitting in a boat in the pond. I just loved this smile.
Tate and mom sitting with the witch. Tate didn't want to get too close to the witch.

While we were eating, there was some Halloween music being played. Tate was so excited. He got up and started dancing. It was so funny. I wish that I would have had a video camera, but this picture will have to do.

A Day at the Beach

A few weeks ago, while the weather was still super nice, we went with my sister and her kids to the Spanish Fork Reservoir. I had never been up there before and really didn't even know it was there. It was such a beautiful place. You could see all of the leaves on the mountains that were changing colors and the weather was perfect. Tate had fun digging in the sand and playing in the water. He also had his first experience with fishing, at least he thought he was fishing. His cousin helped him hold an empty fishing pole in the water and Tate thought he was pretty neat. Tate tells everyone that he loves going to the beach. At least for now, we don't have to spend a lot of money to go to the beach. It is just a short drive away. Who knew?

I Love to See the Temple

A few weeks ago for Family Home Evening we talked about the temple. During nursery, Tate has also been learning the song, "I Love to See the Temple." It is so cute. He can sing all of the words and sings it in the cutest little voice. Since we have been talking about the temple, Tate kept asking when he could go and see the temple. Last week, Tate and I met Kraig at the Provo Temple after work and walked around the temple grounds. Tate was so excited to see the temple at the big "mountains" (fountains) out in front. He loved spending time at the temple. A few days later, he saw a picture of Kraig and I on our wedding day in front of the Mount Timpanogos Temple. He looked at me and said, "Mom, you need to take me to that temple where you married dad." I guess we will be visiting a few more temples. "Look Mom a temple"
What a cutie!
He finally made it to the temple.

We're Going To The Zoo

Tate loves animals. So, we decided to take a trip to the Hogle Zoo before it started getting too cold. We had so much fun. He ran from one animal to the next as fast as he could. He loved having a "mat" (map to the rest of us) that he could look at. He would look at it and tell us what aniamls we still needed to see. His favorite part was riding the train. He wasn't too excited when he had to get off so quickly. I think we all had a great time.

Smiling for the camera. Tate loved how tall the giraffes were.
Tate and Kraig were looking at all of the penguins. I love this picture.
The picture that everyone has to take while at the zoo. Can't pass up this photo opportunity.
Riding the train. Such a happy boy.
