Kraig had the idea this year of hiking up the "Y" on the mountain for Memorial Day. We had a great time. Tate was such a trooper and hiked the whole way up. The trail is only 2.4 miles round trip, but it is straight up. It was so neat once we were on top to sit there and look around at the view. It took us a lot longer than most people, I am sure, considering we had to stop for lots of drinks and breaks, but we made it. Tate did such a great job and we had a great day as a family. My mom and her husband Joe decided to join us. Tate loved hiking with Grandpa Joe. He even treated us to ice cream at the creamery. It doesnt' get much better than that. Now we can look up at the "Y" and say we did it.
Just getting started. Tate wanted to be just like Grandpa Joe and wear matching cougar hats and hike right next to him.
Before the hike.
Looking out at the great view. Tate loved looking at the water slides (7-Peaks).
He made it. Sitting on the "Y"
Tate and Dad on top of the "Y"
Joe and Mom
On our way down. Stopping for one of many water breaks.
Tate loved going fast down the mountain. Tate and his dad ran a lot of the way down the mountain.
Family picture. We had one tired little boy.
Joe!
This is the only part of the whole hike where Tate got carried and it was only for about 30 yards or so. I think if he would have been carried much longer he would have gone right to sleep.
At the end of the hike, Tate finally found a walking stick that was just his size.
We made it back to the bottom!
Tate needed one last picture! Such a great day!

I had no idea there was such a nice trail to the Y. What a fun family activity. I'm going to have to get Dave and the girls to go. Loved the pictures!
